Unlocking Clarity & Creativity

Unlocking Clarity & Creativity

A year ago I started "The Artist's Way," a book by Julia Cameron, in which each week she suggests reflecting on a different aspect of creativity and carrying out tasks to overcome artistic blocks and adopt a new creative attitude.

The first task she invites you to do is writing morning pages. It involves dedicating yourself to writing three pages on any topic, freely, every morning. There are some guidelines to follow for this task to be truly beneficial:

It must be three pages (no more, no less)

Handwritten
It should be the first thing you do in the morning (it takes between 20 and 30 minutes)
It should be done every day
Anyone can do it, it is not necessary to be an artist or work in any artistic field
There is no rule about what to write, write about anything: ideas, feelings, tasks, plans, memories, grocery list, etc.

I know it sounds like a big commitment to include a new habit in our mornings. But it is really worth it, in my personal experience. I have been writing my morning pages for a year and it is what has contributed the most to my creative development among other areas of my life.

Other benefits of writing your morning pages:

It brings clarity to your thoughts and emotions 🌷
You start the day with a clear mind 💎
You put your good ideas in writing so you don't forget them
You give yourself a moment of reflection
It is beneficial for both your artistic performance and your personal life

If you accompany your morning pages with reading her book "The Artist's Way," your growth in creativity will be even better. Are you up for it? Since I started, I can't stop doing it, seriously, there's no turning back 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Feeling like you need an extra tool? I am offering a Creative Mornings Journal, inspired by 'The Artist's Way'. A dedicated space for this new habit of writing in the mornings. Sometimes we need that extra motivation, like a new journal.  Capture your thoughts, sketches, and dreams as you embrace the transformative power of mornings dedicated to your craft.
